Travel and Pokemon Encounters
Jan. 14th, 2013 07:29 amThe country of Unova is a fairly vast place; you can't just teleport city to city right off the bat. The pokemon native to the world also vary, considerably so in fact- if you were to actively pursue the full pokedex, you'd have to visit each route at least once!
This guide here will shed some light on what pokemon live where, and how to catch them; it'll show what pokemon live in the grass, what live on the tops of waters, and which ones will need to be fished out and caught. Some pokemon will be easily encountered; others may take days, or even weeks to find!
In the time that's passed in Unova however, some rare pokemon have become more active. Audino in particular can be found occasionally on each route, provided one looks in and around the same area for a few hours; in caves, this encounter varies, but quite typically Drillbur or Excadrill are common. Very rarely, an extremely valuable catch will appear; these catches may take up to a full month of searching in the area- or they may only take a week. It's certainly less of a search range than an entire route however, so anyone aiming to move quickly won't likely find these!

If you're lucky enough to do that, you probably won't have it happen again for at least a few weeks when it comes to the rare ones- more like a few months for the REALLY rare ones (unless you do spend the few weeks looking).
